In 2002, I released a Puzzle/adventure game for the Palm Pilot. I released it as shareware for $5 and sold about 200 copies. Its premise was based around exploring different levels of a dungeon that were laid out as a 3 x 3 grid. Passages between rooms were randomly generated using an algorithm I developed to guarantee a solvable solution. The final room of each level was blocked by a door that required a key hidden in a chest somewhere else in the level. The novolty of the game was the chests were locked by puzzles, for example a number slide puzzle.

"Dungeon Adventures is a great little time waster, with thousands of random game variations. The objective of Dungeon Adventures is to seek the valued artifact entombed on the lowest level of the dungeon, solving puzzles along the way."

Some of the rooms, including the chest room, could have denizens that needed to be vanquished. If the player attempted to unlock a chest or door, they needed to kill everything in the room first, otherwise, they could just avoid the creatures.

The premise of this blog is to document the development of Dungeon Logica, a game for the Apple IPhone & Touch

Finally got the server and PHP hassle figured out. Initial problem was that some directories were not writable by the blogging engine, which resulted in it just hanging rather ungracefully.

In later postings I will provide information on tools, progress, and history.
